We leave you running, not reading.
NPM Technology is a technology consultancy built on 40 years of building, fixing, and running systems. We solve the problems that survive other consultants.
We've built the systems, managed the teams, shipped the releases, and cleaned up when things broke. Our guidance comes from doing, not observing.
No 90-page assessments. No strategy decks that gather dust. Every engagement ends with something running — infrastructure, tooling, capability your team owns.
We'll work with whatever you have. We also have strong views on what works. You get both — flexibility for your reality, conviction from our experience.
Jay Nelson
Founder & Principal
I've been building software systems for 40 years. I've led teams, managed platforms, modernized legacy systems, and watched more technology initiatives fail from organizational problems than technical ones.
NPM Technology exists because I kept seeing the same pattern: organizations invest in technology, bring in consultants who produce assessments, and end up with strategy documents instead of running systems. The technology wasn't the problem. The gap between knowing what to do and actually operating it was.
Every practice we run, every tool we build, comes from the same conviction: the deliverable should be something that runs after we leave.
Our Engagement Process
Discovery Call
A 30-minute conversation to understand where you are, what's working, and what's not.
30 minutesDiagnostic
We spend 1–2 weeks embedded with your team, mapping processes and identifying gaps.
1–2 weeksBuild & Implement
We build what was agreed. Not a roadmap for what could be built — the actual thing. Infrastructure, tooling, integrations, governed registries, working systems. Scope varies, but the principle doesn't: it runs when we're done.
4–12 weeksHandoff & Support
We train your team, document everything, and provide 30 days of support after launch.
30 daysGood Fit
- Something important isn't working and you've already tried to fix it
- You need infrastructure that runs, not a strategy deck
- You're willing to change process, not just add tools
- You want to own the result, not depend on a vendor
- You value honest diagnosis over comfortable answers
Not a Fit
- You need staff augmentation or body-shop hours
- You want a vendor to own the system permanently
- The real goal is a slide deck for the board
- You need someone to agree with a decision already made
- Budget requires competitive RFP on commodity rates
